On Monday, Bogusław Nowak, Paweł Apanasewicz and Krzysztof Gwizdała travelled to Warsaw, to the headquarters of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. “We managed to obtain posters with Jurek Owsiak’s autograph and a photograph of the WOŚP angel. There are one hundred such photographs in Poland, and one of them will be auctioned right here,” says Paweł Apanasewicz.
At the WOŚP headquarters, Bogusław Nowak donated for auction the costume worn by the famous French mime Marcel Marceau. “It is a very special thing for me. However, I am glad that the costume will be auctioned and the money will support the Great Orchestra’s account,” says Bogusław Nowak.
“Jurek Owsiak made a very good impression on me. He is a very open person. He is witty and humorous. During the press conference, he fought for additional minutes on Channel Two. He was not afraid to talk about difficult matters; he was direct,” says Krzysztof Gwizdała, editor-in-chief of IstotneInformacje.pl.
Jurek Owsiak remembers our city very well. “Greetings to the Glinoludy, but above all, greetings to everyone organising the Orchestra’s Finale; greetings to all of Bolesławiec,” Jurek Owsiaksaid to our camera.
Below is the list of attractions at the Bolesławiec finale:
- Story reading for children – Agora bookshop, 10:00
- Nativity play (note: the role of Joseph will be played by city mayor Piotr Roman, and the role of the shepherd boy by deputy mayor Maciej Małkowski) – Town Hall lobby, 11:00
- Procession from the Market Square to Concordia – 12:00
- Concerts at Concordia – 3 Orla Street, from 13:00
The main venue where WOŚP will perform will be Concordia. There will be a café serving cakes and drinks, hot borscht and a raffle with prizes (tickets cost PLN 5). Various bands will perform on stage, and an auction will also be held. Additional stages will be set up in the following restaurants: Kruszyna, Opałkowa Chata and Piwnica Paryska. As usual during major events, Via Sudetica is organising a photography competition entitled “WOŚP in Bolesławiec and the county”. The Great Orchestra in Bolesławiec County
The Orchestra will play in Gromadka, Nowa k/Kraszowic, Nowogrodziec, Świętoszów and Warta Bolesławiecka. You will of course find the detailed programme on the official website of the Bolesławiec WOŚP.
Additional events and activities
On Saturday, 10 January, at 14:30, a doubles tennis tournament will be held in the gymnasium of the II Secondary School (Dolne Młyny Street). The proceeds from the competition will go to the Orchestra. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to register by calling +48 603 612 762.
The Branch of the Regional Blood Donation Centre in Bolesławiec (Zwycięstwa Street) will extend its opening hours by one hour especially for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on 5–9 and 12–16 January. Residents of our county will be able to donate blood from 8:00 to 13:00 (registration is open until 12:15).
The Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre invites you to the stadium on 11 January for a run at 12:00, to the municipal swimming pool at 15:00 and to the gymnasium at 16:00.
TOP Bolesławiec Club invites you to the Games and Activities Centre at 6 Wojska Polskiego Avenue on Friday at 17:00 for a darts tournament. The proceeds (voluntary participant donations – entry fees) will be donated entirely to the Great Orchestra.
