The seventeenth Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finale will take place on 11 January 2009. “We want the Orchestra to play in Bolesławiec,” Krystyna Juszkiewicz, head of the Bolesławiec WOŚP headquarters, tells the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. Preparations are under way, and the organizers are collecting items for the auction. “We want to raise as much money as possible for this noble cause,” Juszkiewicz emphasizes.
On Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Concordia (ul. Orla) there will be a meeting for everyone involved in organizing the WOŚP finale. “We especially invite those who have not yet contacted us but would like to help. Help is needed,” the head of the headquarters adds.
The WOŚP headquarters was established at the Via Sudetica association. This does not mean, however, that only VS members have joined the organization of the Orchestra’s 17th finale. The association invited, among others, Jana Trawniczek (the initiator of many cultural events in the city) to cooperate. The city authorities have also announced their support.
During the 17th finale in Bolesławiec, Glinoludy will accompany the people collecting donations. “It is a nice touch. Glinoludy really appealed to Jurek Owsiak. And WOŚP is, after all, his initiative,” explains Justyna Rutkowska, president of Via Sudetica.
This is not the only new feature. At the Agora bookshop, volunteers will read fairy tales to children. “Parents will be able to come with their children,” Józefa Witas, owner of Agora, tells the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. Texts by Jan Brzechwa, Julian Tuwim and Ryszard Adam Gruchawka will be presented by, among others, Ewa Ołenicz-Bernacka, Danuta Maślicka and Gruchawka himself.
