A very serious crash occurred on Thursday, November 2, at around 5:45 a.m., on Germany’s B31 federal road near the Mauernriedtunnel, close to Eriskirch. A Scania collided with a Citroën Jumper. The 22-year-old driver of the van, operated by one of Bolesławiec’s rental companies, was seriously injured.

The man, trapped in the cab, was evacuated from the wreckage with the help of firefighters’ specialist equipment and taken to hospital.

The 54-year-old driving the Scania also suffered minor injuries.

According to local media, the likely cause of the crash was the driver of the delivery van, who, while overtaking two other trucks, drove into the Scania traveling in its lane.
