The Bolesławiec County Starost Karol Stasik mentioned the new road through Ocice during Wednesday’s press conference. Andrzej Stefańczyk of Muzyczne Radio asked whether the county authorities were not concerned that the newly renovated road would quickly be “run down.” Especially since the deadline for completing the reconstruction of voivodeship road no. 297 Bolesławiec–Lwówek Śląski is being postponed. (The Lower Silesian Roads and Railway Service is not expected to complete its project until September next year.)

“Roads are meant to be driven on and renovated from time to time,” the starost said. “An example showing that it does not necessarily have to be this way is the road starting at Modłowa Street. It is a fairly well-used route, and there is no sign that anything bad is happening to it, even though we built it about five years ago.”

“It was still worth it,” Karol Stasik stressed. “During the renovation of the road through Ocice, we managed to persuade DSDiK to lay a new surface on the remaining section of the Brzeźnik–Włodzice road. We essentially received the nearly 5-kilometre section for free. In this way, we solved the overall problem.”

He added: “I think the road through Ocice will not be run down during this year.”
