The host of the second edition of the County School Youth Sports Bridge Championships was I LO. The young competitors train daily under the guidance of Sławomir Zimniak (I LO) and Roland Lippik (MDK and II LO). The growing interest in sports bridge in Bolesławiec is evidenced by the fact that, compared with last year, the number of participants almost doubled.
I LO fielded the largest representation. The high school students competed alongside a middle school student (Max Brandt) and primary school students: Rafał Molenda, Norman Lippik, Krystian Szewc and Krystian Fecyk.
Przemysław Juda and Robert Mróz of I LO won the competition. Students from primary schools, Rafał Molenda and Norman Lippik (the youngest participant in the tournament), secured an excellent second place. Anna Jankowska and Maciej Cierniak (I LO) finished third.
The winners were presented with their awards by Ewa Lijewska, director of the Youth Cultural Centre, and Jarosław Molenda, deputy chair of the County Council. The event was organized by: the Bolesławiec Bridge Club, MDK and the Inter-School Sports Centre.
The organizers invite everyone interested in learning to play bridge to classes at MDK (every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).
