On Saturday, November 29, the 16-member UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec team took part in the Olympic Taekwondo Tournament in Germany for the third time. Athletes from Poland, the Baltic countries and Russia, among others, competed in the prestigious Schwert Pokal event. In this year's tournament, the athletes from Bolesławiec won 15 medals, including 3 gold and 2 silver. Adam Filipek, Paulina Stojanowska and Kamil Serafin took the top step of the podium. For the younger juniors, competing in Germany was a test ahead of the regional qualifiers for next year's Polish Championships.
On the same day, qualifiers for the 2009 Junior Polish Championships were held in Śrem. This year's Polish champion, Krzysztof Jasiński, once again confirmed his class by taking first place in the under-48 kg category. Next year, our athlete will also compete in the WTF European Junior Taekwondo Championships.
Krzysztof is currently at the Polish national team training camp in Olsztyn. From there, the country's leading athletes will travel to Belarus, where they will train with the Belarusian taekwondo team.
