The artists will work at three Bolesławiec companies: Zakłady Ceramiczne „BOLESŁAWIEC” Sp. z o.o., „Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego and Fabryka Naczyń Kamionkowych „Manufaktura” Sp. J. Smoleński & Zwierz. Additional workplaces will be provided by the studios of Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki. The symposium commissioner is Mateusz Grobelny.
Public meetings with the artists will be held in the conference room of Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki. The symposium participants will talk about themselves and present their artistic achievements.
On Saturday, 5 August at 6:00 p.m., the following artists will present themselves: Anna Chavus/ Ukraine, Marta Małoszyc-Silbert/ Poland, Iga Kalkowska/ Poland and Ihor Kovalevych/ Ukraine
A week later, on 12 August at 6:00 p.m., lectures will be given by Małgorzata Maternik/ Poland, Srinia Chowdhury/ India, Jane Jermyn/ Ireland and Kazimierz Kalkowski/ Poland.
On Sunday, 13 August at 6:00 p.m., we will meet with the artists Donata Lesińska/ Poland, Mohamad Soudy/ Egypt, Marta Berezhnenko/ Ukraine, as well as with the symposium commissioner Mateusz Grobelny/ Poland.
In addition, on Thursday, 10 August at 6:00 p.m., we invite you to CIK „Orzeł” for two lectures. Ute Hartwig-Schulz, a representative of the Via Regia SCULPTURA Association, will tell the guests about her organization’s activities. We will also hear a lecture by Katarzyna Zarówna and Mateusz Grobelny, employees of BOK – MCC, entitled “The History of International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposia in Bolesławiec”.
The artists will take part in the largest event promoting our city, the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. Their activities will take place on 19 and 20 August. The “Before and After” exhibition, consisting of two parts, will be presented in the Market Square. The post-symposium exhibition from the 52nd edition of the Bolesławiec symposium will be displayed at the DOT Tourist Information Point. Its opening will take place on Friday, 18 August at 4:00 p.m. The second part of the exhibition, featuring sculptures received from participants in this year’s symposium, can be viewed in the Town Hall lobby.
The official closing of the 53rd International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec and the opening of the post-symposium exhibition from the 53rd edition will take place on Wednesday, 23 August at 6:00 p.m. at the “W sam raz” Gallery of BOK – MCC.
The Bolesławiec symposium is the oldest event of its kind in Poland. It effectively promotes the achievements of outstanding ceramic sculptors from Poland and abroad. It is organized by Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki and the Municipal Commune of Bolesławiec.
