On Tuesday, 25 November, students of II Prywatne Gimnazjum held their St Andrew’s Day party. The several-hour event took place at the Galeria banquet centre on II Armii Wojska Polskiego Street. Wax pouring, fortune cookies, hearts with names and fortunes in balloons—traditional St Andrew’s Day activities were all part of the day.
The event was held under the slogan “Mega Madness with the Pirates of the Caribbean”. Some of the middle-school students dressed up as corsairs. The students presented their fanciful costumes on the catwalk during the St Andrew’s Day fashion show.
The competitions attracted considerable interest: the “Who Gets to the Door First?” game, eating against the clock and passing under a bar.
There are currently 59 students at II Prywatne Gimnazjum. Almost all the students took part in the St Andrew’s Day party. “There aren’t many of them. They are like one class,” says Zdzisław Czyżowicz, the head of the school. “They all know one another; essentially, there is no division between the younger and older students,” he adds.
