The British royal couple (the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William) arrived in Poland for a two-day visit. The exchange of gifts is a traditional part of such a visit. President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda gave the royal couple a cavalry sabre, while Agata Kornhauser-Duda gave them a Bolesławiec dinner service. What is more, the First Lady expressed the wish that they would drink tea from it at least once.

When presenting the gift to the royal couple, the First Lady said: “Bolesławiec is a small town in Lower Silesia, where clay deposits were discovered as early as the Middle Ages. The first potteries in Bolesławiec date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. [Ta ceramika] is hand-painted and decorated, and this pattern is one of the oldest. We hope that Their Royal Highnesses will one day drink tea from this set, thinking of their visit to Poland.”

Prince William replied: “We love drinking tea. Thank you very much, it is beautiful.”
