A major cleanup is underway after Friday’s storm. Firefighters had a busy evening and night, repeatedly responding to remove fallen trees and broken branches and to deal with flooded basements. In the City Park on Tyrankiewiczów Street, municipal services are removing fallen trees that damaged several pieces of equipment at the playground there.

“It was a massacre. As if it were the end of the world,” say people walking in the City Park about Friday’s gale. The storm yesterday affected not only the park. Remnants of the strong wind can be seen on almost every street in the city. These include branches, broken trees and limbs, as well as leaves from the trees. Broken tree limbs damaged several cars in the city. Meanwhile, hail left marks on practically every car that was not sheltered by a roof. There are dents on the bodywork. Chips are easy to find on the windows.
