On 26 May, a meeting was held in the library of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące, during which the students of the “first school” learned about the project’s objectives, its course and its results. After a lecture delivered by Sebastian Zielonka, the participants had the opportunity to watch a multimedia presentation and a documentary film, as well as documents from the Komołowski family archive.

In addition to students from Bolesławiec, the project involves young people from Pułtusk, Warsaw, Szczecin and Nowogard, as well as young people from Polish diaspora schools in the USA, Lithuania and Ukraine.

During the project, participants will learn about the work of a historian through in-person classes and webinars. They will also take part in conferences and teleconferences, including meetings with Ewa Koch, president of the Polish Teachers’ Association in America; Jarosław Narkiewicz, Deputy Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas; and former prime minister Jerzy Buzek. A book will be created based on the collected archival materials and interviews with Longin Komołowski’s associates and friends. The project participants will be its co-authors.

The project’s partners are the PZU Foundation and the “Solidarni Razem” Association.
