Work is under way to modernize the roof covering on the building of the Primary School in Nowogrodziec. The project, which began at the end of January this year, includes replacing the building’s roof covering, along with installing roofing membrane, counter-battens and roof battens, as well as replacing the sheet-metal flashing, gutters and downpipes over an area of approximately 1,577 sq m. The roof covering will be made of red ceramic tiles.
Nowogrodziec officials: “For some time, the Primary School in Nowogrodziec had been struggling with problems resulting from the poor technical condition of the roof covering, including numerous leaks, damp walls and increasingly frequent water stains on classroom ceilings. This caused disruptions to the school’s operations and could have led to deterioration of the building’s walls. Unfortunately, instead of the expected 40 years, the roof lasted only 14 years.”
The cost of the project, which is expected to last approximately six months, is PLN 365,994.75. The funds come from the budget of the Nowogrodziec Gmina and City.
