The changes are intended to ensure smooth train operations and maintain the travel times included in the timetable.
Smooth Journeys in Wielkopolska
Due to work on the renovation of the viaduct in Gorzów Wielkopolski and the construction of a new stop, replacement bus services will operate between Gorzów Wielkopolski Teatralna and Gorzów Wielkopolski stations from April 20 to June 10. Six PKP InterCity trains will shorten their routes to Gorzów Wielkopolski Teatralna. The renovated viaduct will enable smoother and safer rail travel. The new stop on the viaduct near Teatralna Street (Gorzów Wlkp. Teatralna), equipped with a shelter and small-scale architectural features, will permanently become part of the city's transport network.
From March 20 to April 28, track, level-crossing and seven engineering-structure repairs will be carried out on the line between Ostrów Wielkopolski and Pawłowo Wielkopolskie. Replacement bus services will operate on the Ostrów Wlkp. – Grabowno Wielkie section. PKP InterCity trains will run on a diverted route via Krotoszyn. The work will eliminate speed restrictions, allowing trains to travel at 100 km/h.
More Comfort in Podlasie
Construction work on another section of the Warsaw–Białystok Rail Baltica line is scheduled to begin in April. Replacement bus services will operate for some Koleje Mazowieckie trains between Łochów and Małkinia, and between Topór and Sadowno. After modernization, trains will be able to travel at 160 km/h. Passenger services at stops and stations will also become more comfortable.
Replacement bus services will operate between Białystok and Bielsk Podlaski. A comprehensive renovation of the line is being carried out there. Once the work is completed, passengers will be able to use, among other things, three new stops in Orzechowicze, Hryniewicze and Nowe Miasto. After the renovation, trains will travel at 120 km/h.
Małopolska Closer to Silesia
Investments on the E30 line between Katowice and Kraków, on the Krzeszowice–Kraków Mydlniki and Kraków Mydlniki–Kraków Główny Towarowy sections, will shorten travel time between the capitals of Małopolska and Silesia.
Due to the work on the Krzeszowice–Zabierzów–Krzeszowice section, replacement bus services will operate for some Przewozy Regionalne trains from March 12 to June 10. Buses will replace 13 trains that do not stop at Rudawa station. In addition, replacement buses will operate between Zabierzów and Krzeszowice for the morning Kraków Główny–Krzeszowice train, while replacement buses will run between Krzeszowice–Kraków Mydlniki–Krzeszowice for five trains. On the Warsaw–Kraków railway line, between Miechów and Sędziszów, replacement bus services will operate for Przewozy Regionalne trains on April 19–27 and May 8–10 due to an investment by the Zarząd Dróg Wojewódzkich. Changes will also affect the Zakopane line because of road construction work. From May 15 to June 4, replacement services will be introduced for regional and PKP Intercity trains.
Changes in Warsaw
Construction of two new railway stops in Warsaw and reconstruction of the orbital line will begin in March. The section between Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Gdańska will be closed to traffic from March 12. Trains arriving from the Legionowo direction will run to Warszawa Gdańska station. Further travel will be provided by public transport. Work on the orbital line is a key investment ahead of the renovation of the cross-city line between Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Wschodnia stations.
