Plant No. 2, belonging to Zakłady Ceramiczne Bolesławiec and out of operation since the first half of 2015, will be demolished. – Economic considerations led to this decision – Wiesław Ogrodnik, head of ZC Bolesławiec, tells istotne.pl Wiesław Ogrodnik. – We were unable to sell the entire facility. There were three tenders, but no bidders. The management decided to take a somewhat different, longer route, namely to demolish Plant No. 2.

The fact that the site will soon be undeveloped means that the company will save more than PLN 300,000 a year, including on property tax. The management also believes that it will then be easier to sell the site.

What is more, ZC will not have to pay for the demolition of Plant No. 2. – There were 16 offers – W. Ogrodnik explains. – Fifteen of them stated that we would have to pay for it – he adds. The sixteenth appeared to be the most advantageous, as it stated that the Bolesławiec company would receive money for the demolition materials: wood, scrap metal and bricks. – Once the figures were balanced, it turned out that we would even make money on it – says the president of Zakłady Ceramiczne.

He adds: – Bolesławiec’s landscape will probably change, because I know that these three chimneys serve as a kind of landmark for some people.
