– According to information obtained from the District Veterinary Officer, the virus (avian flu) was detected in one of two dead birds found near the pond in Błachańca Park in Zgorzelec, district officials say.
They add: – As the virus is particularly resistant to external factors, which makes it easy to transmit (e.g. on clothing or footwear) in the environment, we ask people not to feed wild waterfowl and to exercise particular caution when coming into contact with dead birds they encounter.
Please report any information about dead birds found to the following telephone number: 697 084 943. The highly pathogenic avian influenza virus is not dangerous to humans.
