On Saturday, December 17, “Elektryczni” hosted AZS UZ Zielona Góra. It did not start badly. In the first set, the players from Bolesławiec quickly took the lead and did not surrender it until the end. (At one point, we led by as many as 7 points.) Ultimately, the volleyball players from the City of Ceramics won the set 25:19.
From the second set onward, the visiting team began to perform much better. The players from Zielona Góra opened up a four-point lead, but we managed to catch them (8:8). The rest of the set was a point-for-point battle. Unfortunately, the students proved more effective at the finish and defeated the hosts 25:20.
The third set was very even. But once again, thanks to excellent play at the finish, the team from Zielona Góra tipped the balance in its favor, winning the set 27:25 in extra points.
In the fourth set, the players from Bolesławiec clearly ran out of energy, and as a result, the opponents’ lead grew with each successive rally. The visitors led by as many as 9 points (19:10). At that point, the Bolesławiec team woke up and began to play much better. However, the hosts were no longer able to catch the players from Zielona Góra, and the fourth set also went to the visitors (25:18).
