Last weekend, the finals of the Polish Junior and Under-21 Olympic Taekwondo Championships were held in Kętrzyn (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). Two athletes from UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec competed in the event. They lived up to expectations. Krzysztof Jasiński took the top spot on the podium in the junior 48 kg category.

In a fiercely contested and evenly matched final, despite ankle and metatarsal injuries, Krzysztof defeated Andros Puławy athlete Patryk Rodzik, scoring the so-called golden point in overtime. In doing so, the representative of Bolesławiec won the coveted gold medal at the Polish Championships.

On Sunday, the under-21 athletes (aged 18–21) competed against one another. In the up-to-63 kg category, Yevgen Nikitin finished third, losing in the semifinal to the current Polish champion, Bartosz Piegat of KS Tygrys Kętrzyn.

Both talented athletes from UKS Ilyo achieved great success in the Kętrzyn competition. This season, the club already has two gold medals to its name, including one won at the Bolesławiec finals of the 14th National Youth Olympics, as well as one bronze medal.
