BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec played GKS Kobierzyce on Wednesday. The match began favorably for the hosts. The first goal came as early as the 12th minute. Kamil Mielnik won the ball in the middle of the pitch. He ran several dozen meters with it and crossed to the unmarked Paweł Rissmann. The BKS striker completed the move and scored a beautiful goal.
As the match continued, supporters watched a scrappy display from our team. There were many inaccurate passes and turnovers. In the 33rd minute, Kamil Mielnik once again started an attack down the left side of the pitch. His delivery into the penalty area did not result in a goal, however. Chrystian Serkies got a shot away, but the visiting goalkeeper managed to tip the ball out for a corner. The visitors replied with an inaccurate shot in the 39th minute. In the 44th minute, Kamil Mielnik shot at the Kobierzyce goal, but the visitors’ goalkeeper again produced an excellent save.
In the 47th minute, it was already 2–0 to the Bolesławiec side. The ball went into the net after a shot by Kamil Mielnik. The BKS player struck powerfully from a tight angle, and this time the visitors’ goalkeeper could not stop the ball. Despite their two-goal lead, our players had no intention of giving up their attacks. Chrystian Serkies was tireless in the Kobierzyce penalty area. The BKS striker wasted several good scoring opportunities.
In the 68th minute, the visitors produced a dangerous shot. Following a free kick, the ball struck the junction of the post and crossbar. A few minutes later, the visitors scored a goal to reduce the deficit. Marek Rostowski beat Marek Przykłota. A minute later, Grzegorz Nowak had a chance to extend BKS’s lead. However, his shot hit the side netting. In the 79th minute, Chrystian Serkies ended his scoring drought, scoring Bolesławiec’s third goal after an individual effort. The same player set the final score two minutes later at 4–1. BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec defeated GKS Kobierzyce 4–1 and moved up to seventh place in the table.
“The only thing was to clear their heads. They kept playing and kept trying. I’m happy that they managed to do it. However, it is entirely their achievement. It is the result of the hard work they have put in so far. I’m very happy that the boys believed in themselves and took today what they deserved after four years of hard work—that is, a victory,” said the team’s new coach Krzysztof Lechowski. The new coach believes that the match against Kobierzyce was a breakthrough and that the goal set for the team—promotion to the III league—will be achieved.
