The editorial offices of www.boleslawiec.org / www.istotneinformacje.pl received a letter from one of the parents of children training at Bolesławiecki Klub Sportowy Bobrzanie. The letter contains allegations against BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec president Jan Woch and the club’s board.
Dear Sir,
On behalf of the parents of children who represent BKS in the youngest age categories, I am writing to you. The recent events concerning the board’s activities have worried us. Although the senior team has not achieved any significant successes in the second half of the season, it is still the current board’s “apple of its eye.” Meanwhile, no one pays attention to the youngest players!!! After all, they will form the foundation of BKS’s squad in the future!!! On Sunday (27 April 2008), our children waited 1.5 hours for transport to Lubań for an orlik tournament. Without the help of one of the parents, they probably would not have gone!!! At the tournament, when asking other coaches how many training sessions they held, we were told at least twice a week. Our children train once a week, yet they are on the podium every time (second place in Jelenia Góra, first place in Bogatynia, first place in Lubań). We owe this to the very good work of the coach (Mr Mirosław Szapiel) and the parents’ support. The second matter concerns holding a similar tournament in Bolesławiec. Unfortunately, the information that reached us shocked everyone. The lack of goals is the board’s excuse for cancelling the tournament. Is it really so difficult to borrow them from other clubs if we do not have any ourselves (what is the board doing?) or to buy or make such goals ourselves? We ask you to take matters concerning BKS’s youngest footballers more seriously! Please respond.
Yours faithfully,
Mariusz Pochwała
The editorial team of www.boleslawiec.org / www.istotneinformacje.pl follows the principles of reliability and impartiality in its work; therefore, President Jan Woch’s response is published below immediately.
Jan Woch Responds to the Letter
The president of BKS Bobrzanie addressed the allegations made in the letter. Jan Woch explained, among other things, that until now the children’s coach, Mirosław Szapiel, had been under contract with another club. However, the coach has already terminated that contract, which will make it possible to increase the number of training sessions for children at BKS Bobrzanie. Regarding the problems transporting the children to the tournament in Lubań, the BKS president stated that he managed to arrange a vehicle for the children within 20 minutes of receiving a call from coach Mirosław Szapiel. Jan Woch also announced that the orlik tournament would be held in Bolesławiec the following Sunday, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Marcin Ciliński Is No Longer the Senior Team Coach
We also asked the BKS Bobrzanie president about the club’s current situation. Jan Woch confirmed that Marcin Ciliński is no longer the senior team coach. The decision for the previous manager to leave was made after Bolesławiec’s defeat to MKS Oława. These had been the prior arrangements between the board and the coach. The board is already in talks with three people who could coach the team. For now, the president does not want to disclose their names. In conversations among supporters, the name Krzysztof Lechowski has emerged as one of the candidates to coach BKS.
Tomasz Jasiński will lead the team in the match against Górnik Polkowice. Józef Pietrzak is expected to return to the senior squad soon. The BKS defender had been struggling with an injury for a long time. Jan Woch confirmed that the club has a problem with its junior teams. However, the club is trying to attract new people. New equipment has been purchased: footballs and tracksuits. Krzysztof Kawałko has become the coach of the younger juniors. The president hopes that young people will want to train at the club. He also declared that he would do everything possible to encourage young people to play and represent our city.
