Staff at the Wrocław branch of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management’s Meteorological Forecast Office predict that thunderstorms with showers will pass over Lower Silesia on 25 April. The warning is in effect until midnight.
Expected rainfall amounts are 5 to 10 mm, and locally around 20 mm. The storms may be accompanied by gusty winds, with gusts reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h.
The phenomenon may cause disruptions to the operation of electrical equipment, fire hazards and a risk to life from lightning strikes. The situation is being monitored on an ongoing basis by the Provincial Crisis Management Centre.
