On Saturday, April 12, the international WTF Taekwondo Tournament – 10 Oberlausitz Cup was held in Bautzen, Germany. It was organized by the Lower Saxony Regional Taekwondo Association. Nearly 150 athletes from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland took part in the competition, including an 18-member Lower Silesian team with nine athletes from UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec.
From the very beginning, the Bolesławiec athletes performed excellently, winning all their first bouts before the time limit: either by a significant points advantage or by knockout. Although some UKS Ilyo representatives were defeated by their opponents in the finals, all the Bolesławiec athletes won places on the podium. In the tournament’s overall standings, the Lower Silesian team took first place, winning a total of 10 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Here are the results of the UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec athletes:
- Justyna Szyposz: first place in the junior women’s category
- Kamil Serafin: first place in the younger junior men’s category
- Eryk Motyl: first place in the cadet category
