The forest was the central theme of the 15th edition of the provincial art competition on the theme of ecology, “The Earth Is One 2008.” Almost 2,500 works, made using a wide variety of artistic techniques, were submitted to the competition. The jurors selected 266 of them for presentation at the post-competition exhibition at the “Śródmieście” Youth Cultural Centre in Wrocław.
The exhibition featured works by three young artists associated with the Bolesławiec Youth Cultural Centre: Oskar Migoń, Zuzanna Woźnica and Agnieszka Sobierajska. What is more, Oskar, a student of Magdalena Konieczna, an instructor at the Youth Cultural Centre, received one of the 25 main prizes in the Lower Silesian competition.
Oskar Migoń has been attending art classes for six months. Does he have talent? Magdalena Konieczna has no doubts about it. “In fact, every child has potential,” the instructor points out. “Sometimes you just need to work on that potential, notice it and bring it out,” she adds.
MDK invites you to a spring sale of artworks
Tomorrow is the last day to purchase works by young artists in the foyer of the Youth Cultural Centre. There are candlesticks, mosaics, paintings on glass, batiks, prints, ceramic works and even cuddly toys. Everything has been made with artistry, often requiring great precision and patience. Each work is distinguished by an original artistic concept.
