On 15 March, athletes from the Bolesławiec Taekwon-do Club (ITF) competed in the Lower Silesian Junior and Younger Junior Championships. The competition in Oleśnica was the first qualification event for this year's 16th Polish Junior Championships “Biała Podlaska 2008” and the 15th Polish Younger Junior Championships, which will be held as part of the 14th National Youth Olympics “Lower Silesia 2008”.
A total of 101 people from eight Lower Silesian clubs took part in the competition. They competed in three disciplines: patterns, sparring and special techniques. Our athletes won three medals. Krystian Marzec (younger juniors) defeated 34 opponents and won the gold medal in the cup-grade patterns category. As a result, the Bolesławiec resident qualified for the National Youth Olympics.
Kaja Burniak (juniors) won the silver medal in the cup-grade patterns category and bronze in the women's individual sparring category up to 53 kg. The Bolesławiec resident advanced to the Polish Junior Championships.
