Club officials, sponsors, friends and players of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec gathered on Saturday at the Prnjavor Motel for the 10th Football Herring Party. Guests at the football ball were welcomed by club board members, led by president Jan Woch and vice-president Bartosz Kubica. The men received commemorative ties, while the women were presented with roses.
Jacek Szymczak welcomed the guests of the 10th Football Herring Party. He spoke about important events for football in Bolesławiec that had taken place the previous year. The most important was undoubtedly the merger of two clubs. BKS Bolesławiec and Bobrzanie Bolesławiec merged into a single club. The guests were then welcomed by Jan Woch, president of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec.
The club’s thanks for supporting football were received by Maciej Małkowski, deputy mayor of Bolesławiec, deputy county head Stanisław Chwojnicki and Tadeusz Szewc, representing Bader Polska. Thanks were also expressed to the Regional Association of Employers.
The Golden Ball, the club’s main distinction, was awarded to Heilit+Woerner. The company, which is involved in road and motorway construction, among other activities, is BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec’s strategic sponsor for 2008. Commemorative shirts bearing the autographs of BKS Bobrzanie players were presented to Maciej Małkowski, Starnisław Chwojnicki and Tadeusz Szewc.
