Bolesławiec does not have its own representative in the Sejm for several reasons. These include people’s discouragement with politics, reflected in low turnout; voting for politicians from outside Bolesławiec, such as those from Jelenia Góra or Legnica; and too many candidates from the same region, which divides the votes among them so that no one gains a sufficient advantage.
The upcoming early parliamentary elections are another opportunity for the city and Bolesławiec County to have their own MP in the Sejm. An MP from Bolesławiec would be an opportunity to accelerate the development of our region. The interests of the local community require its representative to be someone who actually lives in that community. By living there, they know best what problems the given city and county face.
Voters who do not go to the polls often think that by not voting, they are not participating in the elections, and since they are not participating, they are not responsible for the consequences of a given choice. Unfortunately, all those who are absent also “vote”—only unconsciously supporting those who decided to go to the polls. There is a strong possibility that people who do not participate in elections “vote” for those they simply dislike. Will Bolesławiec have its own MP? We will receive the answer to this question on 21 October.
Boleslawiec.org invites everyone to participate in the pre-election poll. The survey concerns declared support for nine candidates for MP from the city and Bolesławiec County.
