On Saturday, at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec hosted relegated second-tier side Górnik Polkowice. Our team began the match against Górnik focused and motivated. From the very beginning, it was clear that the Bolesławiec players did not intend merely to defend. A few minutes after the referee’s opening whistle, our team created a dangerous opportunity. Chrystian Serkies passed the ball to Paweł Rissman, but the recipient of the pass shot wide.

BKS frequently threatened Górnik Polkowice’s goal. Tomasz Jasiński failed to take advantage of a good opportunity, shooting wide from 16 metres. In another dangerous BKS attack, Marek Kumoś crossed from the left to Chrystian Serkies, who was running into the penalty area, but he was just too late to reach the ball.

In the 32nd minute, the Polkowice players threatened the BKS goal again. This time, Kamil Szczęśniak shot at the Bolesławiec goal. Our goalkeeper once again made an excellent save and tipped the ball out for a corner. In the 44th minute, Paweł Rissmann failed to take advantage of a good opportunity. The BKS striker shot from a tight angle, and the ball struck the side netting of the Polkowice goal.

In the second half, the visitors increasingly came into the game. In the 51st minute, Marek Opałacz unleashed a powerful but, fortunately, inaccurate shot. In the 60th minute, following an uncertain intervention by Grzegorz Nowak, the crossbar saved the Bolesławiec side. In the 68th minute, Marcin Ogórek shot at the Polkowice goal. Unfortunately, the ball flew over the crossbar. Seven minutes later, Marek Przykłota made another excellent save, stopping a shot by Marcin Jeziorny. In the 80th minute, BKS took the lead! Krzysztof Szymański made the most of a loose ball in front of the penalty area. With a beautiful shot into the right corner, our player beat the Polkowice goalkeeper.

After conceding, the visitors put everything into attack. Górnik’s players threatened the BKS goal several times, but they were unable to change the result. BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec defeated Górnik Polkowice 1–0 and remained second in the IV liga standings. The fans saw a good and dynamic performance from both teams. The Bolesławiec players showed great commitment. Everyone deserves praise: the goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack. Nobody held back. At Saturday’s match, our team was supported by chants from a, for now, small group of members of the Supporters’ Club.
