On Saturday, the first team of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec faced AKS Strzegom. From the beginning of the match, the Bolesławiec side held the advantage. They did not have to wait long for a goal. Krzysztof Szymański converted a corner taken by Tomasz Jasiński. The player beat the AKS goalkeeper with a header. In the 16th minute, it could have been 2–0. Józef Pietrzak’s pass to Tomasz Jasiński ended with a powerful shot. The post saved the visitors from conceding. In the remainder of the first half, the Bolesławiec side continued to dominate. Unfortunately, as time passed, the game from both sides became increasingly rough. The visitors provoked the hosts, while the referee was unable to calm the emotions affecting the players. Krzysztof Szymański and Chrystian Serkies received yellow cards for altercations with AKS players. Towards the end of the first half, Mateusz Janczyszyn had to leave the pitch after receiving a red card for a second yellow.
In the second half, the visitors pushed forward in an effort to make up the deficit. Playing with ten men, BKS defended access to its goal skillfully. However, in the 50th minute, the Strzegom side scored the equalizer. Marek Przykłota was beaten by a free kick taken by Paweł Kochanowski. Playing a man down, the Bolesławiec side did not give up. Our players’ counterattacks threatened the AKS goal several times. The visitors kept a very close watch on Chrystian Serkies. They also created several dangerous chances in front of the Bolesławiec goal. An “exchange of blows” continued until the end of the match. Neither team had a decisive advantage, and the result remained open.
The situation changed after Robert Nitarski came onto the pitch. The captain of the Bolesławiec team played brilliantly. In the closing minutes, after an individual run, our player beat the visiting goalkeeper with a gentle shot. On the goal line, Chrystian Serkies reached the bouncing ball and went into the goal with it. The joy of the Bolesławiec players and supporters was immense. Despite being down a man, our team showed character and won the match. BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec moved into third place in the IV liga table.
