MP Grzegorz Schetyna announced at a meeting in Bolesławiec that, if early elections do not take place, Civic Platform will submit a motion of constructive no confidence. He also admitted that, in his opinion, a return of POPiS is impossible during this parliamentary term. He commented briefly on the latest government scandals: "Anything is possible in this Sejm. Nothing would surprise me." He added that Law and Justice is now trying to show the public that it has no intention of co-governing with people such as Andrzej Lepper or Stanisław Łyżwiński, even though it previously tolerated them.
Bolesławiec County head Cezary Przybylski asked about a bill banning people convicted by a final judgment from holding public office. MP Schetyna replied that the Law and Justice Sejm Speaker Ludwik Dorn had blocked the bill. Law and Justice is working on a similar bill. Civic Platform politicians agreed that it would be worthwhile to make voters aware that the idea had originated with Civic Platform.
The issue of political provocations by the Central Anticorruption Bureau was also raised. Grzegorz Schetyna also addressed rumors about the formation of a new party by Jan Maria Rokita and Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz. According to the secretary, if early elections were held, politicians from the hypothetical party might simply not have time to prepare.
The future election campaign was also discussed. Civic Platform wants to prepare thoroughly for it. The campaign is to be conducted in a sensible and rational manner. The MP emphasized that Civic Platform has a chance to remove Law and Justice from power and become a "full alternative" to the party of the Kaczyński brothers. He stressed that Civic Platform is committed to strengthening local-government structures and that one of the principles of its future election campaign will be support for local government. He added that perhaps the time would come for an MP from Bolesławiec.
