On Tuesday, a football festival was held at the municipal stadium in Bolesławiec. Despite the unfavorable weather, the festival attracted nearly 500 people. The residents of Bolesławiec had the opportunity to watch an Ekstraklasa football team play—Cracovia Kraków. The team stopped in our town on its way to a training camp in Germany.
The football celebrations began with the Oldboys BKS – Councillors and VIPs match. Once again, former BKS Bolesławiec players proved that they had not forgotten how to play football. The oldboys defeated the councillors’ team 2:1. Dariusz Dziki scored both goals for BKS. Krzysztof Konopka scored the councillors’ consolation goal.
After the oldboys and councillors, the players of third-league GKP Gorzów Wielkopolski and first-league Cracovia Kraków took to the pitch. The players from Gorzów faced their distinguished opponents without any complexes. The match was even during the first quarter of an hour. In the 21st minute, GKP took the lead. Maciej Malinowski was listed as the scorer. After conceding, Cracovia sped up the game. Despite their visible advantage, the Kraków players had to wait until the 40th minute for a goal. Kamil Witkowski then beat the goalkeeper from Gorzów.
After the break, Cracovia continued to dominate, although there were also moments when the players from Gorzów created danger in front of the Kraków goal. Cracovia’s second goal came in the 80th minute. Kamil Witkowski scored again. Łukasz Szczoczarz set the final score in the 86th minute. Cracovia Kraków defeated GKP Gorzów Wielkopolski 3:1 in the friendly match.
The third match of Tuesday’s festival was the game between BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec and Cracovia Kraków. The residents of Bolesławiec, like the players from Gorzów, approached the match with great commitment. In the opening minutes, our players created a dangerous opportunity. Paweł Rissmann found himself in a good position, but our player struck the ball poorly and missed. In the 12th minute, following a shot by Damian Dudzic, the visitors took the lead. Despite conceding, the Bolesławiec players played with determination, repeatedly stopping attacks by their distinguished opponents. Three minutes before half-time, Damian Dudzic was listed as the scorer again.
After the break, the visitors scored two more goals. In the 65th minute, Tomasz Moskała beat Sebastian Łokaj, and in the 77th minute Dariusz Pawlusiński set the final score at 4:0 for Cracovia. Cracovia Kraków defeated BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec 4:0. Despite the expected defeat, our team played with determination.
During Tuesday’s festival, there were drawings for prizes donated by the festival’s sponsors, as well as a football competition for children. The Bobrzanie team celebrated its promotion to the district league (currently the second team of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec). The club’s former board and players took part in a brief ceremony during which a commemorative cup was presented.
After the festival, the players, members, and supporters of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec gathered for a barbecue at the Water and Sports Centre. Cracovia players and coach Stefan Majewski also attended. The coach of the “Stripes” handed the BKS president three Cracovia jerseys signed by the players. The festival organizers also thanked all the companies and media patrons whose support made it possible to organize the football event. Boleslawiec.org was the event’s exclusive online media patron.
