The event, held under the slogan “Football Children's Day,” was carried out as part of a public task commissioned by Starostwo Bolesławiec, with the support of the Parents' Council, teachers, the villages of Ocice and Nowa, and private sponsors. The school hosted the commune head and commune authorities, as well as village heads Bożena Długosz and Ewa Surma.
Teams from Olszyna, Olszyna Lubańska, Jelenia Góra, Lwówek, Pisarzowice, Bolesławiec and the host team took part in the tournament. The tournament lasted 4.5 hours; every participant received refreshments and a commemorative medal. The top three teams in each age category were awarded cups, while individual players received awards for best goalkeeper, top scorer and best player. The competition took place on three pitches, with 33 matches played in total and 134 goals scored.
In the girls' category, LZS Pisarzowice proved unbeatable, finishing ahead of two host teams: UKS “Sokół” Ocice and SP Ocice. In the under-12 category, the players of UKS “Sokół” Ocice showed little hospitality, taking first place ahead of Olsza Olszyna and GCKiS Gościszów. The most evenly matched competition was in the under-10 category, as shown by the fact that both the third-place match and the final had to be decided by penalty shootouts. In the third-place match, UKS Pieńsk defeated LZS Pisarzowice.
The final brought together the two best teams from the Jelenia Góra district in this age category: FA Lwówek Śl. and KS Talent Bolesławiec. The two teams had already faced each other many times in the finals of various tournaments, with varying fortunes. This time, in Ocice, fate once again put them opposite each other. After a high-level final, one better-taken penalty gave victory to KS Talent Bolesławiec. The J. Kukuczka Primary School in Ocice, home to UKS “Sokół” Ocice, has focused on development through culture and tradition without overlooking such an important aspect as sport. One hundred percent of the children take part in various activities: starting with swimming-pool classes, followed by gymnastics, hula-hooping, volleyball and tag rugby, and ending with football, in which as many as 60% of the school community participate. Thanks to the support of the Head of Bolesławiec Commune and the implementation of the public task, we managed to enter, with success, the OZPN Jelenia Góra league competitions in the under-12 and under-10 categories, which we would like to continue in the 2016/2017 season. We thank everyone for their help, participation and shared enjoyment.
