Students of history and civics teacher Eliza Klityńska carried out a project on “Memorial sites – material testimony to events of particular importance to local and national identity”. The students identified the plaque commemorating the disaster in Iwiny.
The project involved examining whether the disaster from the 1960s is still present in the awareness of residents of Bolesławiec County. The research carried out had to be compiled, and proposals for commemorating this tragic event had to be made.
The students posted an account of the completed assignment on the sdim.sejm.gov.pl platform. A maximum of 30 points could be earned for completing the assignment; the middle school students from Iwiny received... 29.
It is particularly noteworthy that very few middle school students are among the teams from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship that qualified. The boys are the only representatives of Bolesławiec County and the first youth members of parliament in the history of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality.
Congratulations!
