The findings made in the case indicate that Grażyna M. stabbed him forcefully in the chest during an argument between her and the victim while they were drinking alcohol together, and then left the apartment. Wiesław R., who had also been drinking alcohol, left the apartment with her. They both went to allotment gardens, where they were arrested.

Piotr S. died as a result of his injuries, and his body was not found until 23 April 2016.

On the basis of the evidence gathered, Grażyna M. was charged with an offense under Article 148 § 1 of the Polish Penal Code. M., questioned as a suspect, initially admitted to committing the alleged offense and gave an explanation. But then she changed her position.

On 24 April, the district prosecutor in Jelenia Góra applied to the court for M.’s temporary detention in order to ensure the proper course of the proceedings. The Jelenia Góra District Court granted the application and ordered Grażyna M. to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.

The court’s decision is not final. Grażyna M. could face life imprisonment.
