The national board of Civic Platform has dissolved the party structures in Lower Silesia, we read in Gazeta Wrocławska. Members of the regional board and council lost their positions, including the leader of Civic Platform in Lower Silesia, Jacek Protasiewicz. From now on, the party in the region will be temporarily headed by MEP Bogdan Zdrojewski as commissioner, while in Wrocław the role will be held by Senator Jarosław Duda. In Jelenia Góra, MP Zofia Czernow has become commissioner.

How do the local Civic Platform authorities comment on this situation, and what does it mean for Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County?

“I do not know anything about this matter yet. There was an audit here, but no one knows yet whether there will be a commissioner or not,” said Karol Stasik, head of the structures in Bolesławiec County.

“The fact that Zdrojewski became the leader does not particularly surprise me. I think it is a good move. He is an excellent local-government official and a respected MEP. This will not threaten our structures,” says Dariusz Kwaśniewski, head of Civic Platform in the city.
