BTS Elektros Bolesławiec took another major step toward ultimately finishing second in the III league championship group, which comes with the right to participate in playoffs for promotion to the II league. Bolesławiec’s team defeated fifth-placed MUKS Ziemia Milicka Milicz 3:1.
As a result, the team Marcin Sobczyszyn leads the team from Żarów by 2 points and ZTS Ząbkowice Śląskie by 5 points (Ząbkowice have played one fewer match), with 3 rounds remaining until the end of the competition (BTS has a bye in the final round). On Saturday evening, the match between BTS Elektros and MUKS Ziemia Milicka Milicz ended in four sets.
In the first set, Tomasz Włoszczyński and his teammates won 25:23 after a close finish. The next set was controlled by BTS, and the Bolesławiec volleyball players celebrated a 25:20 victory. The third set saw BTS Elektros lose its focus, resulting in a 20:25 defeat. The fourth and final set ended with the same score as the first, and the full three points went to the Bolesławiec team.
BTS Elektros have only two matches left to play: on 2 April at home—an extremely important match against Ząbkowice (in the first round, BTS Elektros won 3.0 in Ząbkowice)—and on 9 April, the final match of the season in Kudowa.
