From tomorrow, those who travel by rail will pay more. For example, a standard ticket from Bolesławiec to Wrocław, which currently costs PLN 16, will cost PLN 1 more. The increase may not be substantial, but those who travel by train frequently will certainly feel it.
Why are tickets becoming more expensive? The price changes are caused by rising costs related to electricity and fuel. For now, this is the only increase planned for this year; PKP Przewozy Regionalne is not planning any further increases.
The March increase will not affect everyone. The prices of single-journey tickets will not change on local trains travelling routes of up to 20 kilometres or on fast trains covering distances of 21 to 100 kilometres.
A ZVON (Euro-Nysa) ticket may offer a way to travel more cheaply. The PLN 20 ticket entitles passengers to travel on local and fast trains from Bolesławiec to Zgorzelec and Görlitz, as well as to Jelenia Góra via Węgliniec. The ticket is valid from the time of purchase until 4:00 a.m. the following day. It can be purchased up to two days in advance at the PKP ticket office at Bolesławiec railway station.
