The incident took place on November 22, 2015, in Jelenia Góra, in the apartment of Barbara Cz. The woman and her cohabiting partner had been drinking alcohol since morning. At one point, the man said that he was cheating on her. An argument followed, and when it ended, Cz. brought another bottle of alcohol.
At around 7 p.m., another argument broke out between the woman and her partner. This time, it was caused by the suspicion that the man was watching erotic material online.
At that time, the injured man, sitting on a sofa, pushed away his cohabiting partner, who was sitting beside him, and she fell to the floor. Barbara Cz. then went to the kitchen and returned holding a kitchen knife in her right hand. She quickly approached the man and used her left hand to knock him to the floor, then stabbed him several times on the left side of his chest.
The woman told her son, who was in his room, about the incident. She informed him that she had “stuck a knife into the injured man.” He immediately called an ambulance and the police. Thanks to the prompt medical assistance provided, the injured man was saved.
During questioning, Cz. was unable to respond to the charge against her. She explained that she remembered nothing from the moment she began drinking alcohol with her cohabiting partner.
Experts determined that the woman was mentally competent. At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered the aggressor’s temporary detention. She could face life imprisonment.
