On Sunday, an indoor football tournament for boys born in 1996 and later was held in Bełchatów. Bolesławiec was represented by a team made up of young players from MKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec and BKS Bolesławiec. Their group opponents were GKS II Bełchatów, GKS Bełchatów born in 1997, SMS Łódź, Raków Częstochowa and WKS Wieluń.
The Bobrzanie/BKS team began the competition with a goalless draw against the team from Wieluń. It got worse from there. Our players lost 0–2 to Raków Częstochowa and 1–5 to SMS Łódź (Kacper Wojciechowski scored our team’s goal). Our team also lost 0–2 to GKS II Bełchatów. Bolesławiec finished the group stage with two points, thanks to a 1–1 draw with GKS Bełchatów’s 1997 team (Kacper Wojciechowski scored again).
The tournament ended unfortunately for our players, and the Bobrzanie/BKS team ultimately finished ninth, alongside the teams from Jelenia Góra and Wieluń. The coach’s and team manager’s concerns proved justified: opponents who trained daily in sports classes and clubs were better technically and tactically prepared, which ultimately affected the match results. Despite their unsuccessful tournament appearance, the Bolesławiec players had the opportunity to face peers from some of the best clubs in Poland. It was valuable football experience. The Bolesławiec players also toured the stadium and facilities of the Orange Ekstraklasa leader, GKS Bełchatów.
