We contacted Klub Biegacza Bolesławiec about the matter—the organiser of last year’s Tropem Wilczym run. The head of the KB, Łukasz Król:
The main organiser of the “Tropem Wilczym – Bieg pamięci Żołnierzy Wyklętych” run is Fundacja Wolność i Demokracja, based in Warsaw. The above-mentioned foundation selects a partner after the partner has expressed a willingness to organise the run in a given city. Following the successful organisation of the run in 2015, KB Bolesławiec expressed such a willingness by applying to organise the run in the current year. After submitting the application, we received a negative response, which read: “I kindly inform you that your application for the next edition of the Tropem Wilczym run is incomplete. Due to missing documentation from last year’s edition, applications will not be considered. Please make up the deficiencies if you want the city to be taken into account.”
He added:
As KB Bolesławiec, we fulfilled all the points of the agreement signed by both parties. Fundacja Wolność i Demokracja demanded the personal data of all runners who took part in our run. The agreement contained no provision to that effect. Upholding the protection of the personal data of participants in the run held in Bolesławiec, we refused to provide the information in question. Despite numerous email and telephone enquiries addressed to Fundacja Wolność i Demokracja, we received no reply.
With regard to the untrue information appearing under numerous articles, I would like to inform you that the sports club Klub Biegacza Bolesławiec is not a political organisation. It is not affiliated with any political party or the Starostwo Powiatowe. The club’s most important objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle, and above all running as the simplest form of physical activity. We also bring together people whose passion is running, and patriotic and civic values are not foreign to us. We regret that the run commemorating the Żołnierze Wyklęci will not be organised and encourage participation in the Bolesławiec March of Remembrance of the Żołnierze Wyklęci, which will take place on 28 February 2016 at 6:00 p.m. I would also like to inform you that, as a sports club, we are actively participating in the co-organisation of the run for military-profile schools, “Commando – Dla Wyklętych 1963”, whose main organiser is Stowarzyszenie Byłych Żołnierzy 62 KS „Commando”.
