The Polish side organized this year's gala. Bolesławiec Mayor and head of the Nysa Euroregion Piotr Roman welcomed those gathered for the ceremony, outlining the Euroregion Nysa's 25-year history, including its turning points.

For the eighth time, an international jury assessed the nominees for the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion Award in three categories:

  • best cross-border cooperation
  • best cross-border cooperation in the field of a shared holiday region
  • best cross-border cooperation in culture, education and sport.

It is worth recalling that the award aims to recognize exemplary cross-border cooperation within the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion. Legal entities and individuals whose registered office or place of residence is located within the Euroregion may enter the competition. This condition also applies to all partners.

The winners of this year's Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion Award were:

  • best cross-border cooperation:
    1. Jeżów Sudecki Municipality (PL)/Vierkirchen Municipality (DE)/Paseky Municipality (CZ)
    2. Obec Nový Oldřichov (CZ)/Reichenbach City (DE)
  • best cross-border cooperation in the field of a shared holiday region:
    1. Frydlant City (CZ)/Świeradów-Zdrój City (PL)
    2. Künstlerische Holzgestaltung Bermann GmbH Neisseaue (DE)/Neisseaue Municipality (DE)/Pieńsk Municipality (PL)
    3. Polish Youth Hostels Association Łużycki Branch Lubań (PL)/Klub českých turistů Odbor. Nove Mesto pod Smrkem (CZ)/Oberlausitzer Kreissportbund e.V. Zittau (DE)
  • best cross-border cooperation in culture, education and sport:
    1. FVKS – Föderverein Kulturstadt Görlitz – Zgorzelec e.V.(DE)/Miejski Dom Kultury Zgorzelec (PL)
    2. Hradek nad Nisou City (CZ)/Bogatynia City (PL)
    3. Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Jelenia Góra Teaching Centre (PL)/Hochschule HSZG Zittau-Görlitz (DE)/Technická univerzita v Liberci (PL).

The awards were formally presented by the heads of the Polish, Czech and German sides of the ERN: Piotr Roman, Martin Půta, Bernd Lange.

The members of the ERN Presidium awarded the 2015 ERN Award in the category “people with the highest commitment to cross-border cooperation.” This year, the award for the highest personal commitment to cross-border cooperation went to: Hartmut Biele (DE), Stanislava Riegerova (CZ), Marcin Zawiła (PL).

A student award was also presented as part of the “Young Scientists” cooperation between higher-education institutions, organized by the Academic Coordination Centre in the Nysa Euroregion (ACC):

  1. Maciej Krzana, Aleksander Preuß, Stephan Strehler
  2. Pavel Jäger, Klàra Altova
  3. Tomasz Kwiatkowski.

Honorable mention: Kornel Musiał, Aleksander Matyjewicz.

The German side will organize the next edition of the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion Award. Bernd Lange took over the symbolic baton.

This year's gala was hosted by Maciej Gałęski from the Nysa Euroregion office, and the evening was enhanced by the Karkonosze folk band Szyszak.
