I know, I know—it sounds ambiguous, but this sentence should be taken as seriously as possible. At the Poza Nova cinema at MDK, “The Fool” can still be seen until Wednesday: an exceptionally interesting and moving film by Russian director Yuri Bykov. It tells the story of Dima, who works as a plumber in one of the small towns. One night, he is called to an old workers’ hostel. Trying to repair a breakdown, Dima discovers that the building will collapse within a few hours. The authorities should order an immediate evacuation, but instead they hide behind logistical difficulties...

The lights go out at 6:01 p.m. Tickets cost PLN 11.

Projector reels also turn before noon as part of the New Horizons Film Education project; there will also be a special Thursday screening for seniors. On Wednesday, another lecture in the Cross-Border University of the Third Age will take place here, during which Adam Bogacki will encourage participants: “Look up at the sky.”

On Thursday, we will also host circus workshops under the green dome, but please note—the classes are unfortunately closed to the public. On the same day, KOD supporters—meaning the Committee for the Defence of Democracy—have scheduled their meeting at MDK. On Friday morning, rehearsals for performances celebrating Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s Day will take place.

And this particular line from the text seems to be the best one to use when extending our warmest wishes for 129 years of life to all our beloved mothers and fathers. 129 years! Smiles! Good health! And as many indexation increases as possible...

We also remind all granddaughters and grandsons that registration is open for children’s activities during the school winter holidays at our MDK. In schools in Lower Silesia, the winter break will run from 1 to 12 February, and during that time the cultural centre will organise morning activities for children aged 6 to 13. To take part, you need to register your children by 29 January at the MDK office by calling 75 77 52 415.

We invite you!
