The incident occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday. A woman fell from the third floor of a building on Tyrankiewiczów Street.
Preliminary findings by the prosecutor’s office indicate that an alcohol-fueled party was taking place in the apartment. The owner and his disabled daughter, as well as another man with his common-law partner, were in the home. At one point, the woman went out onto the balcony. According to a witness, she leaned over the railing and fell. Unfortunately, her injuries were so serious that she died despite receiving assistance from paramedics.
After arriving at the scene, police immediately detained the woman’s partner. Unfortunately, the apartment owner barricaded himself inside the home. Firefighters were called and set up an inflatable rescue cushion below the building, in case the man attempted to jump while police officers and firefighters were forcing their way through the apartment door. Fortunately, the man was detained immediately after the door was broken down. He was drunk, with approximately 3‰ of alcohol in his blood.
