The annual “The Mystery of Bread” meeting not only recalls the symbolism of bread and its interpretations, but is also a time for reflection and discussion among members of Carpe Diem and affiliated associations and institutions.
“...This loaf of bread is an altar on each of our tables, so let us share every slice with the hungry, fulfilling God’s will. If every person understands that the living God is in bread, then the loaf of bread must be divided fairly” – the words of the poem “Our Daily Bread” were recalled by Maria Niemczuk, prompting deeper reflection and assessments of everyday life among the meeting’s participants. A particularly thorough analysis was conducted by Eugenia Wolska, president of the Carpe Diem Social Association – Teachers’ Club.
Since 2002, “The Mystery of Bread” has been a permanent fixture in the calendar of events of the Carpe Diem club. The event is also an opportunity to sum up the past year and discuss new initiatives.
This year’s meeting was attended by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman as well as representatives of numerous institutions and associations that work with the club on a daily basis. The event was enhanced by a performance from the Jutrzenka ensemble.
