The preschool on Dolne Młyny Street often welcomes many kind guests, but on this day the preschoolers eagerly awaited from the very morning that one extraordinary guest who appears once a year and always has bags and baskets full of parcels for them. Despite the unusual weather and the lack of bright white snow, St Nicholas arrived at the preschool not by sleigh but by car, bringing gifts for all well-behaved children in the trunk.
As usual, the preschoolers also prepared a pleasant surprise for their special guest. Each group made interesting artworks featuring, of course, St Nicholas, as well as poems, songs and dance routines, which they presented to the extraordinary guest. The youngest children were the most excited that day, as they were welcoming Santa at the preschool for the first time. Uncertainty, apprehension and even fear could be seen on more than one face. However, this lasted only a short while, because despite his advanced age, St Nicholas turned out to be very kind and cheerful. He talked to the children, asked whether they had been well-behaved, and then danced and sang together with them. At the end of the meeting came the most eagerly awaited moment: handing out the gifts, which made all the preschoolers very happy.
After St Nicholas’s visit, the preschoolers were visited by another guest, who was a great surprise for them. A huge, friendly Mrówka arrived at the preschool and, as it later turned out, had brought gifts as well. This extraordinary meeting will surely remain in the children’s memories for a long time, and the photos with Mrówka will be a wonderful keepsake for all the preschoolers.
