The Zgorzelec County Head Artur Bieliński took part in the ceremony. The high-ranking state decorations were presented by the voivode to people whose conduct and work serve as an example to follow.
On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, Voivode Tomasz Smolarz had the honor of presenting the Gold, Silver and Bronze Crosses of Merit. On behalf of the Minister of Administration and Digitization, the voivode honored people who had made meritorious contributions to local government by presenting them with Honorary Badges for Merits to Local Government. Among those honored were Zgorzelec County Head Artur Bieliński and former mayor of the Węgliniec Municipality and City Andrzej Kutrowski.
