“Schmideberg – Krzyżatka – Kowary”: 70 Years of Polish Settlement in Kowary

Students of the S. Lem Secondary School in Kowary are preparing a historical project entitled “Schmideberg – Krzyżatka – Kowary. 70 Years of Polish Settlement in Kowary.” “We are preserving the memory of those times in the form of descriptions, photographs and recollections,” they say.

Anyone who would like to share their recollections or unpublished photographs of Kowary from 1945–1955 with our students is asked to contact the school secretariat or the civics teacher, A. Walesiak,

The project’s academic supervisor is prof. K.B. Janowski – one of the first settlers in Kowary, a graduate of the Kowary secondary school and currently a professor of history.
