The third and final meeting took place on Monday at the “Ratuszowa” café. The participants in the debate agreed on one thing: the woodland is to remain woodland. This is not open to discussion. However, a great deal could be done to make the place attract even more residents of Legnica. For example, parking lots could be built nearby, cycling routes marked, benches installed, events organised there to promote the site, or a nature trail created. There were also calls to leave the area to nature while cleaning it regularly.

The debates organised by the Polish Renewable Energy Association were held as part of the project “Lasek Złotoryjski as a place of civic engagement for the residents of Legnica”, financed by the Civic Initiatives Fund. The project is important because it broadly promotes the need to organise the public space of Lasek Złotoryjski and other public green spaces. It involved the residents of Legnica who were most interested in planning solutions. All proposals, comments and responses collected during the meetings and in the surveys will be analysed and presented to the city authorities. Representatives of the City Office participated in the meetings, together with the mayor, Jadwiga Zienkiewicz. The mayor said that the debates had produced excellent material for preparing a development plan for Lasek Złotoryjski.
