Saturday’s press conference of Civic Platform politicians concerned the planned eastern bypass of Bolesławiec. The road is to run from the roundabout in Kruszyn to Jeleniogórska Street. Construction is planned to begin at the start of 2016. The works are expected to take no more than 2.5 years. The cost of building the section was estimated at PLN 45 million.
During the conference, we asked why candidates from the Bolesławiec area once again held such low positions on the Civic Platform list. Stanisław Huskowski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Administration and Digitization, answered.
“One of the candidates, admittedly in a different profession, is a marshal. It cannot be said that Bolesławiec is disadvantaged. The most prestigious position in Lower Silesia is that of marshal. This is taken into account in a certain balancing process. Every region, every city wants something. And there are always arguments such as: Bolesławiec already has a marshal, so we from Legnica want a high position on the parliamentary list,” explained Stanisław Huskowski.
“There is a lot of truth in what Minister Huskowski says,” added Cezary Przybylski.
“Your problem is the marshal—that he is a marshal,” Minister Huskowski joked.
“I could have run. I would have had number one, perhaps number two,” said Cezary Przybylski.
“Without a doubt, number one,” added Stanisław Huskowski.
And what do you think? Should candidates from Bolesławiec have received higher positions, or should we be happy that we have a marshal?
