The press conference was held at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre. Grzegorz Schetyna expressed his support for Arkadiusz Krzemiński, the Bolesławiec candidate for parliament in the Legnica–Jelenia Góra constituency.
No one from the local Civic Platform leadership appeared during the minister’s brief, symbolic visit to Bolesławiec. This is strange, because both Karol Stasik and Dariusz Kwaśniewski support Krzemiński in these elections.
Grzegorz Schetyna spoke quite sharply about his absent party colleagues.
– If there is no involvement from local leaders, and in this region Civic Platform has high expectations and many prominent politicians come from here, then if they do not get involved in supporting the party and supporting the candidate from Bolesławiec, they are doing the wrong thing – the minister said.
He also addressed loyal Civic Platform voters and assured them that the party would remain the same. – I am coming to Bolesławiec even though I am not standing as a candidate here. I have been to many places in Poland over the past year and, believe me, Lower Silesia is a symbol of success – Schetyna added.
