Already on 18 October this year, voting will be held at Tesco Passage on Jana Pawła II Avenue in Jelenia Góra as part of the “Neighbourhood Plebiscite” grant programme, aimed at social organisations operating in Jelenia Góra. Come and help choose the winner, who will receive funding for a project in your neighbourhood!

From among the entries to the “Neighbourhood Plebiscite” grant programme, the jury has just selected 2 projects that will be put to an open vote. The event will take place on 18 October from 12:00 to 18:00, at Tesco Passage on Jana Pawła II Avenue in Jelenia Góra.

The Grand Vote will feature: the Association of People with Chronic Illnesses “Helpful Hand” and the Foundation for Supporting Young Artists and Cultural Initiatives “Closer to the Stars”. The first organisation submitted a project entitled “Handicraft Workshops”, aimed at joint engagement in cultivating intergenerational traditions. As part of the grant, handicraft workshops will be organised for children with disabilities and their caregivers, schoolchildren and seniors. Each participant will make a festive centrepiece or decoration by hand, which they will take home for Christmas.

The other finalist, in turn, submitted a project entitled “Music Therapy at the Children’s Home”, whose aim is to activate children from the Children’s Home who are excluded from full social and cultural life. As part of the grant, the foundation will conduct music therapy sessions, organise an integration trip and a performance by children from the Academy of Young Artists.

The “Neighbourhood Plebiscite” grant programme is part of the “Meet Your Nearby Neighbour” campaign, aimed at local communities and Tesco Passage customers. Its goal is to support the implementation of projects that will contribute to the development of local communities and serve their welfare. Associations, foundations, social cooperatives and educational institutions, among others, could submit entries to the plebiscite.

Anyone who comes to Tesco Passage will be able to vote! In addition, customers who show a receipt when voting will increase their favourite’s chances of winning. Each vote accompanied by proof of purchase will count double.

During the event, the finalists will present their projects and explain how they will support the local community. The voting will be accompanied by games and activities, entertainment and numerous promotions and special offers prepared by shops and service outlets at Tesco Passage. The organisation that receives more votes will win funding of PLN 2,000!

The official voting results will be announced after the events have concluded at all locations, on 27 November 2015, at www.pasaztesco.pl.
