Thanks to this initiative, the courtyard at Żwirki i Wigury Street will offer an opportunity to improve physical fitness and relax in attractive surroundings. Exercise equipment has already been installed: a running machine, elliptical trainer, vertical ladder, leg raise station, surfer, pendulum, twister, leg press, rowing machine and lat pulldown. Benches and waste bins are being installed, while trees and shrubs will be planted. Paved walkways have been built. The work is scheduled for completion next week.
The recreational and sports center at Żwirki i Wigury Street is another facility of this kind created thanks to residents’ initiatives. All of them are extremely popular among the residents of Legnica.
Let us recall that the following projects have already been completed as part of the second edition of the Legnica Civic Budget: an outdoor gym at Tatrzańska Street in the Piekary A district, a recreational area at Primary School No. 20; the sports field at Oświęcimska Street was modernized and a playground was built at Primary School No. 9. The following have also been created: a playground together with a basketball court at Goździkowa Street, an outdoor gym at Primary School No. 1, a pavement at Struga Street and a calisthenics park in the Municipal Park.
